The cow is a grass eating quadruped which can be found on Earth as well as on other planets. The Ameglian Major Cow is a type of this animal.
Cows are referenced a few times in the Hitchhiker's series. The Gagrakackan version of the drink gin and tonic, known as the tzjin-anthony-ks, is said to kill cows at a hundred paces.[1] Ford Prefect once said that a Lazlar Lyricon custom spaceship he saw outside Milliways (The Restaurant at the End of the Universe) moved like a fish but steered like a cow.[2]
