Eoin Colfer is an author, most famous for writing the Artemis Fowl series. He also wrote the sixth Hitchhiker's book, And Another Thing... after the death of Douglas Adams.

Adams had planned to write a sixth book, as the fifth book, Mostly Harmless, was a "very bleak book". However, he died before he was able to do this, so his widow, Jane Belson, and the literary agency that manages his estate contacted Colfer to ask him to write the sixth book instead. Colfer was already a fan of the series, and agreed to write the book.
