- A hagro biscuit (sometimes called hagra biscuit) was a delicacy that was a speciality of the Dentrassi, and a favourite of Ford Prefect.
The exact ingredients of a hagro biscuit are unknown, but they were seen to consist of a blue bread-like base (similar to that of an iced finger) topped by a green guacamole-like sauce and seasonings.
When it was served aboard Vogon Constructor Fleet ships, it was deliberately, although in keeping with the Vogons' demands, of lower quality than the Dentrassi's usual food, due to their intense dislike of Vogons. To most other races, Dentrassi food prepared for Vogons was revolting, especially to those who were used to the refinement of Dentrassi cuisine. Arthur Dent greatly disliked it, spitting out his mouthful, while Ford could still swallow his bite, but looked visibly unhappy.
While the Dentrassi and their lesser-quality food prepared for the Vogons appear in every version of Hitchhiker's, the hagro biscuit is only specified as one of their dishes in the tv series adaption.
